On 07/2018, OpenMotics was acquired by Renson, a leading ventilation, sun protection and outdoor/heathy living specialist.

Co-Founder, Software Engineer • As part of the backend software team, I was working the various backends (on the Cloud and local Gateway). Previously I was also working on the frontends, but since the company grew, that became a dedicated team. I maintained some of the firmwares (2 bootloaders in C) and there was some fiddling with logic analysers every now and then.

OpenMotics

It all began as a shared hobby between friends, and grew into an Open Source company. Making both hard- and software open source, we allow users/customers to modify their system, free from any vendor lock-in. A app platform allows addidional features to be developed by the community or other vendors. Besides building automation, Energy measurements and management are a key feature of the platform.

ZFS Snapshot Manager

While maintaining my NAS running ZFS, I created a small tool to manage ZFS snapshots and distribute them to offsite servers.
